Hey, just wanted to keep everyone in the know. I am going to have the new comic up soon but I wanted to work on a way of getting the comics done on time for once. Part of this is that I am going to directly draw a few comics using the graphic tablet and various different programs. I imagine this will yield many results and we can look forward to the humour of Jamie and Sam in a timely manner for the first time ever.

Picture related, a quick inkscape test. For all those who harbour resentment against us for our bad timekeeping, I want you to look into that bunnies eyes and just try to tell it you are angry. If you can then you are a stronger man than I.

What’s this? Well, old chap that would be the original drawing of our Viking guy but with a proper background this time. I felt bad for using an image from Google with a blur on it, I was always expecting people to spit on me in the streets for this betrayal.

This was only a short update, don’t worry I still have a comic due soon. Also keep this under your hat but we might have some merchandise already up on a cafepress that we need to quality check. I didn’t tell you that though, except I did, I’l post real details as and when I get them.

An outright fabrication I am afraid. Keep the hope alive though.

Bit of an image test this is, I am working on a way to speed up the process of making these without pirating any software. If I can find a solution we can push ahead with a proper schedule rather than once every week or two. Anyway, enjoy.

Biking Voogaloo

My first post on Boogaloo! This is exciting. And by exciting I mean a slight necessity.

As Jim explained in an earlier post, we have some fantastic comics coming up, and we hope to kick ourselves into a regular schedule. I’ve undertaken the mammoth task of writing a Gag-a-page full 30-odd comic book, of which I’m about 15 (mostly shit, that will be rectified) pages into. This will be for sale at MCM expo in May, so please buy it. I can’t afford food.

What I’d like to do for you now, however, is give you a little backstory on the creation of Boogaloo.

A good few years ago, circa 2008, me, Jim and Sam all undertook a brief comic venture entitled Flaming Viking VS Mecha Condom. The comics were mostly one-offs, and we ran for a whole four strips. Then we gave up because we were shit. Oh dear.

Since then, me and Jim have tried to launch a few comic-based projects off the ground, which all failed due to one reason or another (Read: Jim is lazy).

However, laziness can become boring when you’re out of college, and Jim suddenly realised he needed something to do in his spare time. So, he offered us the chance for a Flaming Viking reboot, which we jumped at. I give you; Viking Boogaloo.

Why Boogaloo? Well, that reference is quite obscure. First person to get it has a mention in an upcoming strip.

Glad tidings to you all, I present to you our latest in what will hopefully now be a constant stream of updates.

Both me and Jamie attended the MCM expo in London, we returned with a sound knowledge of how we should start to break into the comic industry and really spread our wings a little. This is to say that now Jamie has drawn up plans for comics and printed media for me to make from design into a reality. A bold step for newcomers such as ourselves, but it looks to be a fun investment.

The above video was made by Jamie so that he may avoid exploding from the excitement of maybe possibly making progress and having a massive laugh. This was the first item I wanted to show today and we hope you enjoy it (and send it to your friends as free advertising).

Secondly I would like to announce that we now have a logo, designed by Sam and drawn into this mortal realm by me. It sums up both the Viking while also stating that the Boogaloo is involved in copious amounts.

Also there should be two new comics up soon with many more in the pipeline,still not sure on the update scheduling for now. Maybe we can get the comics up once every week/2 weeks. That is at least better than nothing.
